I personally dislike the whole idea of ***/lesbian couples, because it all seems so weird, but on the whole I agree with Nick - it's basically freedom of speech, and there's nothing wrong with one person loving another. It is strange and all, and according to the Bible, wrong. I don't support it nor am I against it, because I could really care less about the whole issue ;D

To expand on what Serena just said, and possibly make it more accurate: the idiots in the country make the most noise, the government listens to the idiots because they want them to shut the **** up, this pisses off everyone else (i.e. 95% of the population), which means the government has to make up an excuse as to why they supported the nation's retards in the first place. Fun cycle, but there ya have it Well, there are actually more people that are against it then you think, the only reason that you dont see it is because within our age group the feelings of the majority are that there should be same *** marriage should be legal, but the truth is that the young tend to be more liberal, and thus with each passing generation people are more accepting and less discriminatory... same *** marriage will be legal, think about it the views of people are constantly changing, predominantly towards liberalism... so eventually the liberals will become those that make law... but at the same time will be conservatives on the issues while they reign supreme...

Actually, you'd be surprised how many people in our generation are against it. A lot more than what you think. And you'd be equally as surprised as to how many people in the previous generation, don't give a rat's ass. There'll always be people to shoot it down and say how wrong it is in the bible and all that ****. And that by law, marriage is defined as union between a man and a woman. ... Personally, I think the government should keep their noses out of people's bedrooms to be honest. And maybe you're right, maybe some day it will be legal. I would be horrified were it made legal the way the world is right now. 'Round where I live, people can get killed for not being straight. I can imagine were a law like that passed, there'd be mobs of angry people and lots of injured/dead people. It's pretty much getting as bad as racism. I mean, it was actually legal in California for a little while, but they outlawed it again because people didn't like it.

My quote was a generalization... i realize that the population of the United States is quite large and that even a minority is still a large number... but by comparison the young are more liberal than the old...

It is strange and all, and according to the Bible, wrong. Think about this for a second. Who wrote the Bible? Did God write the Bible? No. Man did. Who is man to speak for God? Thay may as well be man trying to play God. heterosexual people of that time were just looking for a scapegoaat, just like the racism that followed in the later years. Y'know the old saying that God doesn't create trash? God loves all his children, however corny that may sound. There are reports of homosexual animals as well and homosexuality in general has been present since basically the start of mankind. If God didn't condone it, he wouldn't create living organisms that are homosexual, would he? I trust God - he knows what he's doing. My quote was a generalization... i realize that the population of the United States is quite large and that even a minority is still a large number... but by comparison the young are more liberal than the old... I know what your quote was. I was just saying that like the census the government does, not everyone participates. We'll never have exact figures. All I was saying was, you'd be surprised how many young people are really against it and just how many aren't liberal. In fact, we did a survey among the school in my civics class, senior year. About 70% of them were NOT liberal. Mostly because they followed the ideals of their families and they were of middle/middle-upper class status. However, I am merely stating that the way things are right now, it isn't likely to be pushed through. In fact, there was a veto shelled out a few days ago to an addition to the hate crime law to include attacks against someone who is homosexual or has a gender identity disorder (transexual or someone pretty much confused as to whether they are male or female deep down.). Meaning, that if a hate crime is committed against someone of either nature, they can walk free of a hate crime charge - since it's not included in the hate crime laws. So if someone murdered a homosexual out of hate, they'd just get it for murder, no additional charge for hate crime. but i really wanna know why you support it? Why do I support it? Because marriage shouldn't just be for a man and woman. Homosexuality has been around for longer than these petty laws. The Bible says it's wrong, the government is supposed to have seperation of Church and State - meaning they can't interfere with Churches and Religion. Yet they throw religion up as an excuse to not let same *** couples marry. That's where the line between Church and state becomes blurred. It also has a bit to do with homosexual rights. Homophobia is the new racism. It's only going to get worse before it ever gets better. Just like whites were the only ones allowed rights back in the day, the straight people are the only ones who have any real rights. Hell, people who are homosexual get denied medical care - just because they are ***. That doesn't change the fact that they are still human. Does it? I didn't think so. Skin colour, sexual preference, hell hair colour even, shouldn't dictate whether or not a person is equal. All men (humans) are created equal. So we should all have the same rights.
